Sir Isaac Newton. (1642-1726) Newton made investigations into a whole range of subjects including mathematics, optics, physics, and astronomy. He found a way to explain the law of gravity and the Laws of Motion. Sir Isaac Newton was one of the greatest scientists and mathematicians that ever lived. He was born in England on December 25, 1643. He was born the same year that Galileo died. He lived for 85 years. Isaac Newton was raised by his grandmother. He attended Free Grammar School and then went on to Trinity College Cambridge. Newton worked his way through college. While at college he became interested in math, physics, and astronomy. Newton received both a bachelors and masters degree.
While Newton was in college he was writing his ideas in a journal. Newton had new ideas about motion, which he called his three laws of motion. He also had ideas about gravity, the diffraction of light, and forces. Newton's ideas were so good that Queen Anne knighted him in 1705. His accomplishments laid the foundations for modern science and revolutionized the world. Sir Isaac Newton died in 1727.

Louis Pasteur. (1822 – 1895)
Louis Pasteur was born in Dole, France on December 27, 1822. His family was poor and during his early education he was an average student who enjoyed art and singing. However, when Louis was exposed to science as a teenager he spent a lot of time towards the advancement of medical sciences developing cures for infectious diseases. Louis Pasteur lived from December the 27th 1822 to September the 28th 1895 and was famous for his work on disease, causes, and prevention. He probably saved more lives than any other person. In 1838, Louis went to college to become a science teacher. He earned degrees in mathematics, physics, and chemistry.

Galileo. (1564 – 1642)Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa in 1564. He created one of the first modern telescopes. Galileo revolutionised our understanding of the world successfully proving the earth revolved around the sun and not the other way around but, sometimes Galileo was far from being correct. During the time of Galileo, there weren't really "scientists" as we know them today. Much of Galileo’s work was withdrawn and banned by order of the Church. Towards the end of his life Galileo went blind. Yet even in his final few years he continued with his work. Galileo died January 8, 1642 in Tuscany, Italy. he was best know for improving the telescope to be used to study the planets and stars.
Marie Curie. (1867 – 1934) Marie Curie was a physicist and chemist. She discovered radiation and helped to apply it in the field of X ray. She won Nobel Prize in both Chemistry and Physics. Marie was born November 7, 1867 in Warsaw, Poland. Her parents were both teachers. Her dad taught math and physics and her mom was headmistress at a girl's school. Marie was the youngest of five children. Marie died on July 4, 1934.Marie and her husband were both scientist who spent many hours in the science lab investigating new elements. She died from overexposure to radiation, both from her experiments and from her work with X-ray machines. Today there are lots of safety measures to keep scientists from getting overexposed to the rays.
Albert Einstein. (1879 – 1955) Albert Einstein revolutionised modern physics with his general theory of relativity. Albert Einstein was born March 14,1879 in Germany. Albert worked as a Scientist and Inventor. His father had an electronics company and Albert learned a lot about science and electronics from his dad. He really liked math and wanted to pursue math and science in school. Albert Einstein invented the atomic bomb, he was afraid that Hitler would discover how to make an atomic bomb to attack people so he sent out a letter to Roosevelt and Roosevelt made the Manhatten Act.
Charles Darwin. (1809 – 1882)He developed theory of evolution against a backdrop of disbelief and scepticism. Collected evidence over 20 years, and published conclusions in On the Origin of Species (1859).Charles Robert Darwin was born in the town of Shrewsbury, England on February 12th 1809. He was the fifth of six children of wealthy society doctor and financier Robert Darwin and Susannah Darwin. Charles Dies April 19, 1882 age seventy-three.
Otto Hahn (1879-1968) - German Chemist who discovered nuclear fission (1939). Pioneering scientist in the field of radio-chemistry. Discovered radio-active elements and nuclear isomerism (1921). Awarded Nobel Prize for Chemistry (1944). Hahn was born in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1879 to a rich entrepreneur named Heinrich Hahn. Otto Hahn joined the Kaiser Wilhelm Society (KWG) in 1946. He was the last president of the institution. Hahn was also founding president of the Max Planck Society (MPG), where performed his duties from 1948 to 1960.Hahn died on July 28, 1968. He was 89 years old.
Nikola Tesla (1856 –1943) - Work on electro-magnetism and AC current. Credited with many patents from electricity to radio transmission. Nikola Tesla was born on 10 July 1856 to Serbian parents in the village of Smiljan, Australian Empire. His father, Milutin Tesla, was a Serbian Orthodoxed priest.Tesla's mother, Đuka Tesla , whose father was also a Serbian Orthodox priest. On 7 January 1943, Tesla, 86, died alone in Room 3327 of the New Yorker Hotel.
James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1879) - Made great strides in understanding electro-magnetism. His research in electricity and kinetics, laid foundation for quantum physics. James Maxwell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on the 13th of June 1831 and died on the 5th of November 1879. Maxwell’s family was also well known for their extraordinary accomplishments. He spent his childhood living with his family and other relatives in a country house where the weather was warm and healthy. His mother passed away when he was young and as a result he grew more closer to his father.
Aristotle384BC - 322BC Great early Greek scientist who made many researches in the natural sciences including botany, zoology, physics, astronomy, chemistry, and meteorology, geometry. Aristotle was born in northern Greece in the city of Stagira around the year 384 BC. He grew up as part of the aristocracy as his father, Nicomachus, was the doctor to King Amyntas of Macedonia. It was at the king's court that he met his son, Philip, who would later become king. Growing up the son of a doctor, Aristotle became interested in nature and anatomy. He grew up putting a premium on education and the arts. Aristotle died 322 BC in Euboea, Greece
